What We Want You to Know
Students. Faith + Swagger. We're just a group of students trying to figure it all out.
Emily's Ideal Christmas: My ideal Christmas is being with my family and eating. I love sitting in the living room watching Christmas movies. When it snows we go to the road in front of our house and we go sledding. It is so much fun. Every year we make a Jesus cake and we put our little nativity set on top. Emily's Thoughts on Keeping Christ in Christmas: A lot of people think Christmas is about Santa, presents, and shopping... but it's about the birth of Jesus. You can keep Christ on your mind by playing Christian music or making a birthday cake for Jesus like my family. You can put up your nativity set. Jonathan's Ideal Christmas: People have very different ideas when it comes to the ideal Christmas season. My ideal Christmas is waking up and eating cinnamon rolls and opening presents with the family. After that we usually go to one of my grandparents' houses for the rest of the day. Jonathan's Thoughts on Keeping Christ in Christmas: Nowadays it is hard to keep Christ as the center of Christmas. People have been trying to make Christmas less about God and more about getting and giving gifts. It is hard to keep Christ as the center of Christmas because we are all fixed on what the world keeps telling us that Christmas is about gifts, not God. A way we can make Christmas about Christ is to go out and serve the community or help the poor and sick. You could start making things for people in nursing homes or go caroling at the nursing homes. Christmas isn't about gifts. We need to make Christmas about God, not gifts. D'Kayla's Ideal Christmas: My ideal Christmas is getting my family to get back together and having everybody respect Jesus. D'Kayla's Thoughts on Keeping Christ in Christmas: It is difficult to keep Christ in Christmas because you need to have Jesus and the Spirit in your heart. The best way to keep Christ in Christmas is to love the Lord your God. **** Lindsey's Ideal Christmas: Christmas is hard to sum up in words. I think a perfect Christmas would start out with staying in PJs all day. We would eat chocolate chip pancakes and drink hot chocolate. We would have music on and dance around. I love it when my dad reads the Christmas story. Opening presents is fun, but not the main purpose of Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season. Food is so good. My mom is awesome at making food. Lindsey's Thoughts on Keeping Christ in Christmas: It's kinda hard to focus on Christ when you're so focused on presents and trying to stay happy. I think that we can make Jesus our focus this year by reading the Bible, praying and giving the glory to God. Presents are not the main priority... Jesus is.
